The North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA) has teamed up with the Virtual Engineering Centre (VEC) in Warrington for a workshop on Thursday focusing on advanced manufacturing.

The first NWAA Supply Chain Workshop of 2011 will take place at the VEC, based at the Daresbury Innovation Centre. The event, open to both NWAA members and none-members, will focus in particular on automation.

Supply chain workshops form a key part of the NWAA’s activity for members. Keynote speeches will be given by Craig Turnbull, UK engineering director of Deeside engineering company Electroimpact and Steve Malone of Kent-based automation specialists Fastems.

Tony Robotham of the VEC will also discuss how the facility is supporting manufacturing and the opportunities available, with a tour and demonstration of the facilities.
