THE North West Aerospace Alliance has handed a cheque for £2,500 to its chosen charity, Sue Ryder Care based at Cuerden Hall in Preston.

The NWAA, which works with hundreds of companies involved in the aerospace sector, is supporting the national charity for two years. It raised the money through a charity aerospace ball in November 2009.

In the summer the NWAA is due to hand over another £1,500 raised from various recent activities.

Louise Barrett, area fundraising manager for Sue Ryder Care, said: “We are extremely grateful to the North West Aerospace Alliance and its members for supporting Sue Ryder Care with various fundraising activities throughout the year. We could not continue to provide the care that we do without the support of our local community.”

All the money donated will go towards supporting Sue Ryder Care in the North West which provides care to people living with conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington’s Disease, Stroke and Cancer in the region.

Martin Wright, chief executive of the NWAA, said: “Sue Ryder Care performs such a vital role in the community, and I’m glad we have been able to support its work in this way.”
