The NWAA has welcomed eight new members, swelling our ranks to more than 370.

As you can see there are plenty of companies joining from outside the North West, looking to tap into the expertise on offer through the NWAA, its members, mentors and programmes.
Plane Talking

The latest edition of the NWAA newsletter, Plane Talk, is now available fresh off the printing presses.
This quarter’s copy features the latest news on the NWAA’s attendance at the Paris International Air Show, and news and views from the aerospace sector including the latest from the ASCE team, Make It in Aerospace, and the Isle of Man cluster.

Last chance for Paris

The last few places are still available for companies wishing to join the NWAAat the Paris International Air Show.
The show, one of the world’s highest profile events for the international aerospace sector, will take place from June 20-26 at Le Bourget Exhibition Centre in Paris.
The NWAA will be using the show to promote the North West’s aerospace sector, and showcase the work being done in the region by its members.
The stand itself will include a meeting area, fully equipped office space and a private boardroom. The air show is expected to attract 2,000 exhibitors, more than 130,000 trade visitors and hundreds of official delegations.

Workshop to focus on advanced manufacturing

The North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA) has teamed up with the Virtual Engineering Centre (VEC) in Warrington for a workshop on Thursday focusing on advanced manufacturing.
The first NWAA Supply Chain Workshop of 2011 will take place at the VEC, based at the Daresbury Innovation Centre. The event, open to both NWAA members and none-members, will focus in particular on automation.
Supply chain workshops form a key part of the NWAA’s activity for members. Keynote speeches will be given by Craig Turnbull, UK engineering director of Deeside engineering company Electroimpact and Steve Malone of Kent-based automation specialists Fastems.
Tony Robotham of the VEC will also discuss how the facility is supporting manufacturing and the opportunities available, with a tour and demonstration of the facilities.
